Time prayer

You might wonder what the benefits are to journaling and using scripture during your prayer time. Maybe you have tried it but didn't continue due to lack of time or motivation. Maybe you didn't know where to start so you haven't tried journaling yet. Maybe you think you are not a writer and feel discouraged to put words down on paper.

I want to encourage you by saying let's not look at the past but look at the present moment and one motivating reason that you might want to relook at journaling during your prayer time.

Prayer time is a source of renewal so that you can draw on wisdom from scripture and insights from God. By taking the time to pray you will be able to achieve clarity, balance and healing. By using journaling tools that incorporate both your creativity and logic, your prayer time will have a stronger positive ripple effect on yourself and the people that you encounter from day to day.

#1 Reason to Journal

Journaling creates a stronger relationship with your creator, creating a stronger you.

Journaling with scripture is like spending time with a best friend, reading intimate letters and discovering new things about you and your friend. Some books in the Bible are considered the love letters to you. Other books are like memoirs that share history. All the books together bring you different aspects of God your Creator, Jesus, and your advocate the Holy Spirit. It makes sense to say the more time you spend with scripture the stronger relationship you will have with God. Your relationship goes deeper and deeper. You understand new things and gain new perspective. It is not only about knowing God, it is also about you revealing yourself to God. It's about you being authentic, real, and vulnerable. You can take off the layers that hide your true self and start to shine. Your confidence builds because you know God is forgiving and loving. By having God reflect back to you, you will learn new and exciting things about yourself that you have not thought about before. You will discover that your self-confidence will increase, which will pave the way to you contributing positively in society. You will consciously choose activities that are more life-giving to you, which will benefit the groups or people that you are spending your time with.

"To be strengthened in your Inner self and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge" Ephesians 3:16-21

By spending time and building your relationship with God you will be developing the fruits of the Holy Spirit. You will become confident and loving and carry the spirit of hope in all your words and actions. Your inner self will be strengthened and grounded in a way that surpasses knowledge. By writing and drawing stories from the bible you will discover that your prayer time will positively influence your day to day words, actions and decisions.
